I appreciated the outdoor seating because it was a nice day and it's a little on the dark side there. We were interested in getting the pitcher of the "summer seasonal sangria" but the host told us they no longer served it. Bummerrrr. Since I had never been there before and my cousin had, she did some talking and got us something like a pitcher of regular sangria.
BrandSimple is a refreshingly easy read that boils the essence of brands and branding down to, well, their simplest but most important basics. Anyone involved in business management of any kind should read this book.
This is an excellent book for someone with no background in branding. It starts by describing all of the components that make up branding (e.g. advertising, company culture, how employees represent the company, fonts and language style, public relations, etc.). Then, it explains why these are each important and how to improve them. Lastly, it provides real-life examples of when these components are used positively as well as when they are used negatively. The author, Allen Adamson who is a seasoned marketing expert, has created a very informative read in a very entertaining way. I’ve already devoured his two follow up books (“Brand Digital” and “The Edge”). And I look forward to the newest addition, “Shift Ahead.”
- If you're starting an ad agency, marketing business, or developing your own brand you NEED to read this. I know while reading personally, I had to stop and breathe every 2 pages and take notes because it was packed with so many thought provoking truths. - Every page has something important or special. Usually books like these are written with a lot of Filler in between chapters just to make the book longer. However BrandSimple avoids this, and stays clear, simple, and informative throughout the end. - I'm keeping this one, If I ever hire employees for my Ad Agency this book will be a mandatory read. - Also, Tested Advertising Methods by John Caples is a Must read as well.
